All about the Polyvagal theory
Polyvagal Theory offers a unique scientific viewpoint that takes into account evolutionary changes in the nervous system of vertebrates. This viewpoint identifies specific neural pathways that interfere with the brain's ability to regulate responses to perceived threats and subsequently deactivate defense mechanisms.
Polyvagal theory is not perfect from a scientific perspective. But it is a very good explanatory model for understanding why we feel stressed, anxious or depressed.
