What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a clinically developed listening intervention, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, based on polyvocal theory.
It uses specially processed music to gently stimulate your auditory system. This system is in direct communication with the vagus nerve and core circuits involved in nervous system regulation.
Through this pathway, SSP supports the nervous system to shift from defense to regulation, connection and recovery
Not by forcing relaxation. But by helping the body recognize safety.

- Bipolar disorder in an unstable phase
- An unsafe home situation
- When there is no safe, quiet listening place
